Building a team means finding good people. At April Six we’re always searching for the best and brightest to join us. Recently we found Matt Newman, who has joined the agency as Account Manager.
Shortly after his first-day office tour, we sat down with a warm beverage and fired some questions at Matt. It was supposed to be a relaxed intro to the company. Read on to see how it played out.
What are you excited about?
I’m really excited to be working with an agency in the midst of delivering truly bold campaigns. I’m especially excited by the fact that April Six partners with some of the world’s biggest and best tech brands. I can’t wait to get stuck in.
What are you bringing with you?
I like to think I’m pretty enthusiastic about providing clients with the best possible service. That being said, I don’t shy away from challenging traditional ways of thinking when I think a different tack will bring them value.
What motivates you to work hard?
If my clients are happy, then I’m happy. You get there by understanding their goals and then bringing together the might of the agency to deliver. And in the world of tech, you can’t make that happen without a bit of hard work.
What does your nan think you do?
My nan is 84 years old, and to be honest I’m not too sure what she makes of the tech sector. She has a smartphone, but she doesn’t know how to use it really. I don’t know what that tells you. She definitely knows I work in an office. I’ll ask her when I see her this Sunday.
One-word answers time! From here on out, answer with a single word to these questions. Got it?
Answer in one word? Sure.
Good start. You wouldn’t believe how many people fall down at the first hurdle. What’s your biggest fear?
Least favourite colour?
Red. I’m a Chelsea fan.
Would you rather fly a kite, a plane, or like a bird?
Tell me something interesting about yourself.
Dual citizenship. That works if you hyphenate it, right?
Which is the best vegetable?
And finally – and feel free to use more than one word for this – what’s your biggest pet peeve?
I can’t stand it when drivers don’t wave to say ‘thank you’ when you let them pass. Manners cost nothing, even when you’re behind the wheel. It’s the worst!
